The Tabernacle Baptist Church Statement Of Doctrine

  1. We believe that there is but one living and true God (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:5-7), perfect in all His attributes, one in essence, eternally existing, and subsistent in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14) – each equally deserving the same worship and obedience.
  2. We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testament, to be the inspired, inerrant and infallible word of God as originally given. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21)
  3. We believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God (Matthew 16:13-16), His virgin birth (Luke 1:34-35), his atoning death (Hebrews 10:11-14), His bodily resurrection (I Corinthians 15:3-8), His ascension into heaven (Acts 1:9-11), His present position of High Priest (Hebrews 4:14) making intercessions for us (Romans 8:34), and His pre-tribulational (Thessalonians 5:2-9), pre-millennial (Revelation 19:11-20; 20:6) , personal, visible imminent return (Matthew 24:30).
  4. We believe man to be created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), that he disobeyed God (Genesis 3:6) and is in the state of depravity by reason of the fall of Adam (Romans 5:12), and is in danger of eternal Hell fire if outside of Christ (Revelations 20: 15).
  5. We believe in the bodily resurrection of believers (I Corinthians 15:51-57) into an eternal life of blessedness and bodily resurrection of the unbelievers to everlasting punishment in Hell (Revelations 20:10-15).
  6. We believe in the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit. (Titus 3:5-7)
  7. We believe that salvation is obtained by a personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ apart from human merit and that all who believe in Him are declared righteous on the ground of His shed blood. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 4:12;  I Peter 1:18-20)
  8. We believe that it is the responsibility of all believers to evangelize the world. These believers make up the true Church – the Body of Christ. (Matthew 28:19-20).
  9. We hold to two Church Ordinances – Baptism by immersion (Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:35-39) and the Lord’s Supper (Matthew 26:26-28; I Corinthians 11:23-26).
  10. We believe that every believer has the inalienable right to worship God freely in accordance to dictates of the Word of God. (Colossians 2:16-17; 3:16-17)
